Congratulations, Dawndra and Tim! These two got married at A’BULAE in St. Paul, MN. Dawndra and Tim first met after Tim’s friend invited him to Evergreen Church in New Hope, MN. The church had a small group for young adult singles. Dawndra and Tim were both in this small group. One day, Dawndra sent an email to the group asking if anyone had the skills to build a wooden chair for a relative. Tim volunteered to help and the two started to build a friendship while spending hours together making the chair. Fast forward a few years to Dawndra and Tim leading the young adult small group together. They spent a lot of time praying together and preparing for the group. As Tim tells the story: “This is where we began to grow a deep connection together, and both started to run to the other when we needed comfort or prayer. This started us each individually falling in love with the other, until finally God fully revealed to us (mostly me) that the other liked them.” Now fast forward to the proposal. On Dawndra’s birthday, Tim arrived at her place with iced coffee and flowers. They had planned to take a morning walk by the beach near Dawndra’s house. However, it ended up raining so they decided to color (an elementary school teacher’s way to relax!). While coloring, Tim was telling herΒ about a new devotional he had read about not having any doubts in the Lord. Well he perfectly planned this conversation to segue into a proposal as he told Dawndra he had no doubt that their relationship was a gift from God. As told by Dawndra: “That is when Tim pulled out the most perfect ring ever and proposed. Of course, I said yes!”
When it was time to start looking for wedding venues, the couple both wanted their wedding to be in the city.Β As Dawndra recalls, “My mother found the venue. Once we finally listened to her to check it out, on a whim, we both fell in love with it immediately. It was perfect. It was made for us and it seemed so easy for us to make our wedding vision come to life at A’BULAE.” Since their relationship is centered on their faith (and all began due to their church’s small group), they incorporated worship songs and prayer in their ceremony. They also wanted to personalize their DIY centerpiecesΒ (wooden boxesΒ with baby breaths) by painting Bible verses on the sides of the boxes. When it comes to their wedding day, Dawndra and Tim can’t wait to have all of their favorite people in one place: “We wantΒ our family and friends to feel special, connected, loved, and at home. We are most excited to celebrate with our friends and family and for the people we love to become family together with us as well.”
