Glensheen Mansion Wedding

Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, MN. The couple chose to have their wedding there because it was one of their favorite stops on their very first vacation together. They wanted to have just their closest friends and family to join in on the celebration. To personalize the wedding, these two named the guest tables after their favorite vacations and used wine corks from bottles that they drank for place card holders. Michelle and Geoff love having memories associated with every aspect of their wedding, but what they are looking forward to the most is: “We’re most excited just to start our lives together. For the day of the ceremony, we mostly want to see laughing, smiling, happy people. People on the dance floor enjoying themselves. People having good conversations in corners, enjoying each other. People taking a moment away from their every day lives to live in a moment, and be happy. If our wedding can provide that moment, we will have had a successful day.” These two met through work back in 2006. At first, these two did not like each other, although Geoff admits he thought Michelle was cute. As time went on, they ended up working side by side on a team together. Casual exchanges turned into flirtations which became shared lunches. This led to Geoff “borrowing” Michelle’s phone to discretely call himself so he would have her number. That number exchange led to their first date which eventually led to a trip to San Diego in 2012. Michelle was recognized as a top salesperson in her company and was awarded with an all expenses paid trip to San Diego for a company celebration. Geoff planned a day for just the two of them in San Diego. Michelle is obsessed with panda bears so Geoff brought her to the San Diego Zoo (one of only two places in the United States where you can see panda bears). While Michelle was distracted by the panda bears, Geoff handed the camera to a stranger to capture the completely unexpected proposal!
