How They Met

Jason and Josie first met at Menards in 2013, shortly after Jason had moved to Minnesota from Georgia. Instantly Josie was attracted to his southern accent. (He has now adopted the MN accent) However, it wasn’t until 2014 that Jason and Josie started to work together for real. After working on numerous projects together, Josie and Jason began to fall for one another. On 12/26/2014, Jason and Josie had their first date. They went to see an awful Mark Wahlberg movie. Despite the bad movie they saw together, they had a wonderful time.

How They Got Engaged

Josie and Jason were supposed to go on a big family cruise, but thanks to Covid, the cruise was canceled, so they went to Orlando, FL instead. They stayed at the same hotel they went to for their first mini-family vacation. There was a little waterfall and pond in the lobby, and Jason said he wanted to take family pictures in front of it on their last day. In front of all of Josie’s family, Jason got down on one knee and finally asked her to marry him after seven years of dating.

Why They Chose Their Wedding Venues at Assumption and The Doubletree by Hilton.

Josie is catholic, and all family things, from baptisms to funerals, have taken place at the Assumption, so that choice was made for them. After scrolling through the Knot, they found the Double Tree, and Josie fell in love with the big tall windows in the atrium. They also had a pretty sweet wedding package. They booked the Doubletree before looking at any other venue locations.
