Moss Dress | Wearable Art | Minneapolis Fashion

HiHi Creative designed this stunning moss dress adorned with paper botanicals handcrafted by A Paper Florist. Minneapolis style icon Sarah Edwards wore the dress to Walker Art Center’s Avant Garden 2019 event. The sold-out event raised more than $1 million dollars with proceeds going towards Walker Art Center’s award-winning artistic and educational programs and to continue their mission to influence and promote the creativity of artists. The event was the perfect opportunity to debut the dress.Β

Suzanne with HiHi Creative was inspired by Sarah Edwards’ activeness within the Twin Cities fashion community, and wanted to design a dress specifically for her to wear for the Avant Garden event. Suzanne dreamed up the mossy dress and worked with Sarah to complete the vision. A week before the event, HiHi Creative wanted to capture the moss dress in all it’s glory with a photoshoot at Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul, Minnesota. The location’s woodlands, mossy rock terrain, waterfall, and whimsical staircase created the perfect natural backdrop to show-off this wearable art piece’s in-depth details and techniques. Sarah Edwards modeled with a wild, full curls styled by Susanne Huber of Sloane’s Beauty Bar and a natural glow makeup style by Shanon Newgren-Murphy. The look was completed with earrings and jewelry arm cuffs by Milana Stile.Β Β
