Derek and Dani wanted an outdoor wedding and fell in love with the atmosphere at The Round Barn Farm in Red Wing, MN. These two met back in 2010 while they were neighbors in the same duplex at University Wisconsin-Stout. They started chatting and as Dani puts it, “We’ve been navigating life together ever since!” Well, on November 11, 2017, Derek chose to take over the navigating for the day and surprised Dani with a special proposal on the Cantilever Bridge at the Guthrie in Minneapolis. Of course, she said yes and then they celebrated their engagement at Oceanaire. Which leads us to their rustic, barn wedding! For their special day, Derek and Dani chose to wait to see each other until the ceremony. A very special aspect of their wedding was that Dani wore her mother’s vintage dress and then did a first look with her mom! For her wedding flowers, Dani chose to have a bouquet of foliage rather than actual flowers. This classy green and gold wedding was such a blast to be a part of! From yard games to bubbles to s’mores to donuts to a polaroid photo station to a live band to a DJ to a night full of dancing; there was no shortage of fun!
