Saint Paul College Club Classic Minnesota Wedding

Saint Paul College Club classic Minnesota wedding on a beautiful July day of Abby and Andrew. Everything about their day was designed to be classic and intentional.

They met on Tinder in February 2017 and grabbed brunch from Key’s CafeΒ in White Bear Lake the very next morning. Every day since, Andrew has wished Abby a “Good Morning.”

“I think we were both amazed by the immediacy of the invitation and acceptance, but it just felt right. Our lunch date lasted for almost four hours. I know we both felt a super strong connection.” -Andrew.Β

They made dinner plans on the fourth anniversary atΒ The Lexington, a popular fine dining restaurant in St. Paul. Andrew had been working on a ring for several weeks prior. In anticipation of the proposal, he hid the ring in the living room. Before heading out to dinner, they took turns playing some songs on the piano.Β

“While Andrew took his turn, I sat in her designated mustard-colored armchair. Andrew later joined me, sat in his chair, and casually mentioned that the throw pillow behind my back was backward, the zipper was the wrong way. I flipped the pillow around and found a small black box. At that moment, I knew something was up, and I had all the emotions. I passed the box to Andrew, got up, and got down on one knee in front of me. I don’t remember everything he said because I was overcome with feelings but I do remember him saying, “I am going to propose now.” before going down on one knee. My answer was obviously YES! It was the easiest question for me to answer and one of the best decisions of my life.”Β Β

After a few tears, they left for The Lexington and shared martinis and Wisconsin-style old fashions.

When the couple started wedding planning, they gravitated toward the same ideas: traditional, classic, simple & timeless. Abby and Andrew envision their wedding day full of love, celebrating with friends and family, just enjoying the beginning of their marriage. Abby referenced her vision to be much like the opening scene of The Parent Trap from 1998, with candles, wine and the classic mood it creates.

Andrew works as the Director of Worship & Music forΒ Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church,Β so it seemed like a good fit to have their ceremony there and keep the church ceremony tradition like both parents. Their unique unity ceremony included combining glass from both families to symbolize thier unity in marriage. They then dropped off the glass atΒ Lake Superior Art GlassΒ on the way to their honeymoon to have it made into a sculpture. Their organist traveled from Andrew’s hometown in New Jersey. Andrew even arranged the piece of music that Abby walked down the aisle to. During their ceremony, the beautiful solo, sang by Andrew’s best man, brought everyone to tears.
