Classic Saint Paul Hotel Wedding for Veena and Jordan
Veena and Jordan had a weekend of celebrating with friends and family from across the world. Their Friday evening Hindu ceremony was at the Boat and Yacht Club. The next day they shared their vows at Assumption Church and danced the night away at The Saint Paul Hotel.
Veena and Jorden met the βold fashionedβ wayβat a speakeasy. A few years ago, Veena and a few friends were having a girlsβ night out at the famously cozy (and crowded!) Marvel Bar. Jordan had a guys’ night out with his high school friends. Coincidentally, his high school friend was a former colleague of Veena’s. Introductions were made, tables were shared, Jordan and Veena were seated next to each other and hit it off immediately. Over a lively discussion about everything and nothing, sparks flew, and numbers were exchanged. A Rochester to Minneapolis courtship ensued, fostered by a mutual love for walks, nerdy podcasts, birdwatching, dad jokes, and whiskey cocktails.
They got engaged in October 2021. Jordan’s family was in town for his godson’s baptism, and Veena and Jordan wanted to have them try out a lovely beer garden located on the Mississippi. Veena had no idea that Jordan had orchestrated a sweet proposal and wanted all of his family to be around when he proposed. Surrounded by family on a beautiful fall day in 2021, Jordan proposed to Veena at their favorite spot along the river in Saint Paul. Of course, she accepted, and a wonderful new chapter began.
Veena and Jordan had a few sentimental items as part of their wedding. For the Hindu ceremony, their favors were decorative tealight holders, made in India. Agni (sacred fire) is central to many Hindu ceremonies and they wanted our guests to take a small token back that nods to this. For their Catholic ceremony, The unity candle was the same one used by Jordan’s parents. They lit it to the same song as his parents did at their wedding.
Veena and Jordan kicked off their dance with a choreographed dance. Then they danced the evening away with a mix of all genres of music!
