When Caitlin and Nick toured Semple Mansion, they knew right away it was the perfect place to say “I do.”When she walked through the door, Caitlin could already envision herself walking down the grand staircase to her groom. They also loved the beautiful and elegant style of the mansion. It was a perfect fit for their intimate wedding. But let’s back up a bit! Caitlin and Nick met online back in April of 2016. They both love Mexican food so they decided to have their first date at a Mexican restaurant that Nick had seen was rated one of the best in the Twin Cities. Well, it turned out to not be quite what they had expected but they still had fun and even extended the date to go see a movie. They went on more dates. And more dates. And eventually on Valentine’s Day of 2017, Nick popped the question. Caitlin had made a homemade meal and a chocolate Bailey’s cake. Nick isn’t a fan of Valentine’s Day so Caitlin wasn’t surprised that he didn’t get her flowers when he arrived. Later in the night, Nick asked for a slice of the cake. Caitlin teased him that she’d have to think about it since he hadn’t bought her flowers. Well, when she turned around, Nick gave her a ring!
Now, back to the wedding! First off, they had a gorgeous spring day! One of my favorite things about Caitlin and Nick’s wedding day was all of the personal details they included. Since Caitlin’s father had passed away, it was really important to incorporate their family and remember their deceased loved ones. During the seating of the parents, Caitlin chose a song that was a special tribute to her father. They also had a memorial table on display and they did an end of cocktail hour toast in memory of their deceased loved ones. Another special detail is that Caitlin wore her grandmother’s pearl earrings. These are the same earrings that both Caitlin’s grandmother and Caitlin’s mother wore on their wedding days! I love seeing family heirlooms on the wedding day! Shout-out to Studio B Floral for not only providing floral for the day, but for also helping the couple plan their wedding! Everything came together beautifully!
