Renee’s Royal Valet took us on a limo ride to the following venues: Day Block Event Center, Town Hall Brewery, Surly Brewing Event Centers, and Solar Arts Building . It was so much fun spending time with a few other wedding vendors while checking out these wonderful spaces. Day Block Event Center This venue was built in 1883 and renovated in 2006. With it’s high ceilings, wood floors, restored windows, and brick walls, it’s no wonder this has become such a popular venue for weddings, parties, and other events. The Day Block Event Center can hold up to 250 guests and allows hosts to bring in any caterer they want. The main room can even be split up into two rooms for smaller events. They offer chairs and table, on-site management, all-day access, take down and cleaning to help make your event a stress-free day! Town Hall Brewery This Minneapolis brewery opened in October of 1997. They have great beer and food and have a bar, dining room, lounge, and patio. Throughout the year, they host fun events that are great for a night out. So the next time you’re looking for something to do, go check out this brewery! Surley Brewery With a beer hall and restaurant, Surley Brewery is a popular spot in Minneapolis. They also offer private and group tours of the brewery during the day. And as if that wasn’t enough, they also have the Scheid Hall for meetings and events. This room can hold up to 175 people and includes catering services from their restaurant and bar. There is also a balcony overlooking the Beer Garden. A great spot for a beer-loving couple’s wedding, a meeting, an office party, or any other function. Solar Arts Building by Chowgirls Killer Catering The last venue on the tour was the Solar Arts Building. This venue reflects an appreciation for the Northeast Minneapolis’s Art District. When renovating, it was important to retain the historic character of the building while using eco-friendly materials and equipment. Then 109 solar panels were placed on the building to let the sun power “the pure creativity of its tenants.” The tenants include over a dozen of artists and creative professionals. It’s also the home to Indeed Brewing Company and Chowgirls Killer Catering. Chowgirls run the event space on the third floor of the building. This 6500 square foot space with room for up to 400 guests has been renovated with newly built bathrooms, a glass-encountered meeting room, a catering prep kitchen, and a bar. The industrial, architectural details have been preserved in the iconic factory doors, wooden beams, and maple floors.
