If you’re dreaming of a barn wedding in the Twin Cities, you’re in the right place! Minnesota has a lot of barn venues, and they’re not all the same! You’ll find everything from classic rustic red barns to modern white barns with chandeliers. And yes, the amenities vary too! So, it’s important to have a clear idea of what matters most as you tour venue options.
I’ve had the honor of photographing many barn weddings across the Twin Cities and surrounding areas, and here’s a list of some of my favorites. SCANDIA, MN
Redeemed Farm blends rustic charm with upscale amenities. The venue includes a chapel-inspired white barn, a restored 1930’s red barn, and a vineyard lawn for outdoor ceremonies. Couples also enjoy the venue’s stunning bridal suite, groom’s quarters, and a pavilion for social hour.
2. LEGACY HILL FARM
WELCH, MN
Legacy Hill Farm is a perfect blend of rustic and modern elegance. This venue features both indoor and outdoor spaces, including a restored barn, pavilion, and multiple ceremony sites amidst rolling hills and gardens.
3. STONEWALL FARM
WILLMAR, MN
Stonewall Farms is located near Solomon Lake. The venue is known for it’s iconic White Oak Barn and pine pavilion nestled among Scotch Pine trees. Couples love the options between an enchanting tree-lined outdoor ceremony site or a lakeside ceremony.
4. ROUND BARN FARM
RED WING, MN
Round Barn Farm has a breathtaking outdoor ceremony sites surrounded by rolling hills and lush gardens. Receptions take place in their modern open wedding pavilion. Their signature historic round barn is the perfect backdrop for portraits and serves as a dancing space at the end of the night.
5. HOPE GLEN FARM
COTTAGE GROVE, MN
Hope Glen Farm is such a unique wedding venue! Couples love the outdoor ceremony site surrounded by a vineyard and ravine. Receptions take place in the open pavilion that features a statement fireplace and decorated with cafe lighting and chandeliers. The restored Civil War-era barn becomes a dance party. The venue also offers a bridal suite and groom area in separate buildings at the venue. And if that’s not enough, one of the highlights of this venue is the four-story tree house suite nestled into a 150-year-old tree which serves as the perfect accommodations for the newlyweds.
6. BRUENTRUP HERITAGE FARM
MAPLEWOOD, MN
Bruentrup Heritage Farm is a beautiful historic barn from 1905 that is operated by the Maplewood Area Historical Society. Situated on a restored prairie and oak savanna, this venue also offers a farmhouse for getting ready and a Victorian gazebo for outdoor ceremonies. Couples enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the fun add-ons like hayrides and s’mores stations.
7. ABELLA WEDDINGS & EVENTS
CHISAGO CITY, MN
Abella Weddings & Events has an incredible modern white barn and an outdoor ceremony site surrounded by greenery. Couples especially enjoy the venue’s attentive staff and accommodating nature.
8. GREEN ACRES EVENT CENTER
EDEN PRAIRIE, MN
Green Acres Event Center is a historic Gothic-arched barn with a large loft. Couples especially appreciate the venue’s updated technology including high-tech audiovisual systems.
9. GALE WOODS FARM
MINNETRISTA, MN
Part of the Three Rivers Park District, Gale Woods Farm offers a ceremony site overlooking Whaletail Lake, a large pavilion, and a fully enclosed red barn. The property is surrounded by pastures and gardens, and gives couples a cozy, rustic atmosphere.
10. WILLOW BROOKE FARM
RED WING, MN
Willow Brooke Farm is the perfect blend of a rustic farm and elegant vineyard. A modern white barn serves as an outdoor ceremony backdrop, as well as a reception hall. The venue also offers a ceremony site or cocktail hour space within the vineyard rows. With versatile spaces and spectacular views, this venue is an absolute stand-out!
11. DEGLMAN FARM
PRINCETON, MN
Deglman Farm is a rustic, family-owned wedding venue that offers an authentic farm experience. The venue features a historic 1946 dairy barn that has been thoughtfully preserved and transformed into an event space. Couples love the farm’s fun, relaxed vibe and enjoyable experiences like the Hayloft Bar and a fire pit.
12. ALMQUIST FARM
HASTINGS, MN
Almquist Farm is a fifth-generation family-owned wedding venue surrounded by rolling hills and century-old oak trees. The newly renovated barn is decorated with chandeliers, skylight cupolas, and elegant finishes. The two-story granary serves as a unique bridal suite with comfortable space for wedding parties.
13. BLOOM LAKE BARN
SHAFER, MN
Bloom Lake Barn is known for their amazing white barn with large blue doors. It quickly becomes a favorite for couples and guests alike! Additionally, the barn has original vaulted ceilings, salvaged gothic church windows, and elegant chandelier and cafe lighting make the interior just as stunning as the outside. The courtyard serves as the perfect spot for lawn games and a bonfire pit. Couples enjoy the venue’s elegant rustic charm with an easy-going, relaxed vibe.
14. ROLLING RIDGE EVENT CENTER
St. JOSEPH, MN
Rolling Ridge Event Center is a one-of-a-kind venue offers multiple outdoor ceremony sites surrounded by lush trees and gardens. Couples can host an elegant reception inside the barn and enjoy cocktail hour or post-reception fun in the courtyard, complete with space for dancing under the stars. The property includes a beautiful bridal suite and a fun groom’s area with games. MAYER, MN
Ashery Lane Farm features an apple orchard and vineyard, providing serene backdrops for their signature grand barn. With a large stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and chandeliers, this barn is breathtaking.
16. CREEKSIDE FARM WEDDINGS & EVENTS
RUSH CITY, MN
Creekside Farm Weddings & Events is a family-owned venue nestled on 50 acres of secluded countryside. The newly constructed barn has vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, and modern facilities. They offer nine outdoor ceremony sites including their popular Open Yard Ceremony site surrounded by woodlands and a creek.
17. MAYOWOOD STONE BARN
ROCHESTER, MN
Mayowood Stone Barn is a bit farther south, but I couldn’t not include this unique venue and their signature rustic stone barn that serves as a reception space. The second floor of the barn is a loft area which is perfect for an indoor ceremony option, as well as for dancing. Outside is a ceremony site surrounded by greenery as couples say “I do” underneath a 305 year-old Oak tree.
