Meet Jeni, the owner and lead floral designer of Green Goddess Floral (formerly Simply Stated Elegance). Last summer, I had the honor to photograph Jeni’s wedding at Aria. It should come as no surprise that a florist would go all out for her own wedding. I was absolutely blown away by the stunning floral creations Jeni made for her big day. I have also witnessed her insane floral talent at a number of other weddings and styled shoots. It’s amazing what this lady can do when you give her some greenery and fresh blooms! Β I am so excited to feature her on the blog and let you all get to know her!
How did you get started in event floral design?Β
Jeni:Β At sixteen-year-old, my first job was a florist. I have worked in a couple of shops, and sixteen years ago, I started Simply Stated Elegance which I am currently rebranding to Green Goddess Floral.
What is your favorite flower?
Jeni: That’s a hard one! I love cymbidium orchids and calla lilies, but also right now hyacinths are amazing! I just want to bottle up their scent to smell and think of spring.
What is your current favorite floral trend?
Jeni:Β Wearable flowers are my favorite! It is unique, edgy, and makes people look.
What’s the most unique floral piece you’ve designed for a wedding?
Jeni: The wheel at Aria that we covered in flowers and greenery for my wedding was probably my favorite piece. Another favorite is I made a blanket of red roses to drape over moss elephants for a Hindu wedding.
What’s your best floral tip for engaged couples?
Jeni: Unfortunately, we often see flowers get the back burner in planning. My wish is for couples to consider their guests’ experiences. Take the time to create a visually appealing experience, especially at the guest tables! Wow your guests with elegant wildflower bouquets that are dancing out of the vases, accompanied by votive candles and linen napkins that match one of the flower colors. Work with your florist to create the perfect vision that will have your guests commenting on your beautiful centerpieces for years!Β
