Aster Cafe | Outdoor Wedding | Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Before their beautiful wedding at the Aster Cafe, fifteen years earlier, Briana and Brandon met in high school. Their lockers were right next to each other but, they lost touch when school ended. Thirteen years later, they reconnected in 2018 and the timing was perfect. In July of 2020, they got engaged at Two Harbors next to the split lighthouse. Being lovers of restaurants and good food, they started their search for a good venue. Brandon actually works as a beverage director for Young Joni so, he knows the Minneapolis restaurant scene well. Not only were they looking for good food at their venue, but they also wanted a place with an awesome view of the city to show to their friends and family coming from North Dakota. Aster cafe was the perfect fit with the popular Saint Anthony Main area and good food. The family was involved in the wedding as well, Brianna’s father is a ‘master gardener’ and grows beautiful roses in his garden whereas Brandon’s uncle owns a Dalia farm. To pull it all together, Brandon’s mom, who knows her way around flowers, helped make them into the amazing wedding bouquets. The personal touches didn’t end there, Briana always dreamed of having feathers on her wedding dress but could never find one she liked so, she decided to make her tulle wrap with feathers!

At the ceremony, they had Brandon’s close friend Meeko be their wedding officiant. They decided to have a unique unity ceremony by pouring whiskey into a barrel together. After going back to the cafe to have dinner, they came back out to the ‘ceremony tent’ to do toasts, everyone was in full admiration of the couple. At the after-party, Briana who loves to dance, tore down the dance floor to end the night!
