This wedding was very special to me! The lovely bride, Laura, was my βsister from another motherβ in college. We played basketball and softball together, and enjoyed many spring break trips! Unfortunately, we lost touch for several years, but when I found out she had bought a house several miles away from me, we were able to reconnect!
Laura and Will met three years ago online. They have a beautiful blended family with four kids from previous relationships. Their intimate wedding day included just Will, Laura, and the kids. The morning started at their house where I helped make sure Will and the kids were all set before taking Laura to get her makeup done at Amber Budd Atelier. After, we met Will and the kids at Centennial Lakes Park for a first look.Β
The Ceremony
Will and Laura celebrated a private Nikah (wedding ceremony) at Irshad Islamic Center, the familyβs masjid in Eden Prairie. This was my first time at a masjid and wearing a hijab! Modesty is important so I wore a full-length maxi skirt and long sleeves.
Portrait Time!
After the ceremony, we ventured over to Stone Arch Bridge for some outdoor portraits. Since it was mid-January though, it was a bit cold and we decided to go to the Marquette Downtown Hotel to get more Minneapolis skyline photos while also being able to stay warm inside!
Thank you!
Iβm grateful for Will and the kindness, patience, and love he provides for my sweet friend, Laura! To Laura and Will, it was an absolute honor to photograph and be a part of your day β thank you both for allowing me my first masjid experience!
