While planning their wedding, Lizzy and Eric decided they wanted the day to be very intimate. During the Stay-At-Home order in Minnesota, Lizzy discovered a passion for watercolor art and created all of the wedding invitations. The couple’s wedding day included Lizzy’s son, both of their immediate families, as well as Lizzy’s cousin, a professional opera singer who performed during the ceremony. Lizzy and Eric’s indoor ceremony took place at Beckville Lutheran Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. Eric’s mom is a longtime member of the church, and Eric’s late father was laid to rest in the church’s cemetery. It was a special way to feel Eric’s father’s presence that day, and after the ceremony, the family gathered to place one of the ceremony floral arrangements on his father’s gravestone.
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests dined at Lizzy and Eric’s favorite restaurant: Gianni’s Steakhouse on Lake Minnetonka. Lizzy and Eric were so happy to have been able to celebrate their wedding day with the people they love the most. They are so excited to officially be a family and can’t wait for their family to grow as they welcome their new bundle of joy!
How They Met...
Lizzy and Eric met online while living in Northern California. With Eric traveling frequently for work and Lizzy’s three-week-long Europe trip, their first few dates were pretty spread out. But they continued to build a connection by talking and video chatting regularly while apart.
The Proposal...
After moving into a new home together, Eric suggested they get a family cell phone plan. They went shopping for a plan, which Lizzy remarks as a “hilarious disaster.” When they got home, Eric lit a fire in the fireplace and got down on one knee! He asked Lizzy to officially become his family – cell phone family plan or not! It just so happened that Eric chose to propose to Lizzy on a special day – his late father’s birthday. The couple later learned that Eric’s dad had proposed to his mom on the same day, many years ago!
