Some weddings feel like the next chapter of a story I’ve been lucky enough to help tell. I’ve been photographing Austin’s family portraits for years, watching him and his siblings grow and change from one session to the next.
So when Austin and Jenny asked me to photograph their wedding, I said yes right away! It was an absolute honor to be there for their big day!
THE CEREMONY
Jenny and Austin said their vows in traditional Catholic ceremony at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia Heights, MN. The church was filled with family and friends, and you could feel how much every person there loves these two.
One of my favorite moments was the lasso ceremony. As the lasso was placed around their shoulders, it was such a beautiful symbol of unity!
STONE ARCH BRIDGE
After the ceremony, the couple and I snuck away to the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis for some stunning bright blue sky wedding portraits! This is the same area I photographed Austin and Jenny’s engagement session this past spring, so it was fun to revisit the spot in their wedding attire. After the bridge, we stopped in at Whitey’s Old Town Saloon!
And of course, Jenny and Austin drove in a 1999 BMW Z3 roadster!
RECEPTION
The celebration continued at Rush Creek Golf Club where rolling greens set the scene for an evening of heartfelt toasts, great food, and a packed dance floor. One of the absolute highlights was the money dance where guests pinned dollar bills to the bride and groom.
This was truly a day full of love and family. Jenny and Austin, thank you for trusting me with your wedding day and for letting me keep being part of your family’s story. Congratulations, you two!
