Lowertown Event Center (LEC) is located in the historic Park Square Court building on Mears Park in Lowertown St. Paul. There are all the right details to make this venue true to it’s St Paul history as there is exposed brick through out the space. The building from the 1880’s started it’s life as a whole sale drug and medical supply company. In 1970 the street fronts transitioned into retail spaces. When you enter the building the staircase straight ahead will bring you down to the entrance of the venue. (Otherwise, there is an elevator to the right.) Seating nooks provide privacy and ease of conversations. Wedding day preparations are uber convenient as there are two separate rooms for each side of the wedding party. The ladies are equipped with plenty of outlets and most importantly mirrors. The men’s room, well they have plenty of chairs to hang out and wait for the ladies to get ready. A room designated to ceremonies makes the transition into the reception smooth without having to convert the space for dinner. Uplighting is a must to really showcase this space. Oh, another beautiful detail I almost missed, weathered old barn wood stretches across the interior walls, complimenting the rough, dark ragged brick. ]]>
