Sam and Maddie wanted a fun, stress-free wedding day so they hired Jenna Culley Events to help plan an incredible fall wedding. These two love adventures and always appreciated the beauty of fall in Minnesota. With Red Wing half-way for both sides of their family, Willow Brooke Farm became the perfect venue with isolated fields, big glass windows, and an outdoor ceremony site in front of a rustic white building.

How They Met

Sam and Maddie met through their mutual love of sports. Sam played football at Carleton College and Maddie was on the women’s basketball team. Sam was familiar with the women’s basketball coaches, as his sister used to play for them. Soon enough, Sam became the Carleton women’s basketball manager and developed an interest in Maddie during his first week at practice. However, their love story blossomed months later at a superhero-themed dance at Cowling Gym.

The Proposal

The couple celebrated their sixth dating anniversary with a trip to Door County, Wisconsin with their dog, Duke. During a hike with Duke to visit a lighthouse on Lake Michigan, Sam asked some fellow hikers to take their photo. He then got down on one knee! Maddie was completely surprised and almost speechless.
