Fall Wedding at Willow Brooke Farm | Clare + Rowan

It is always such an honor to photograph family members and friends of past clients. I got to meet Clare and Rowan at Clare’s sister’s wedding a few years ago, and it’s such a huge compliment to have been asked to photograph Clare and Rowan’s day, too! They had a stunning fall wedding at Willow Brooke Farm in Red Wing, MN. Since they are both visual artists, I loved all the attention to detail and pops of color throughout the wedding day!

HOW THEY MET

Clare and Rowan are both artists, as is Rowan’s twin brother, who instructed and mentored Clare while she was pursuing her bachelor’s degree. When Clare finished school and returned to Minnesota, she reconnected with Rowan’s brother and became good friends with both him and Rowan. A few months later, Rowan finally asked Clare out!

THE PROPOSAL

In August of 2023, Rowan arranged a special visit to the Minneapolis Institute of Art which is where Clare and Rowan had gone on their first date. He told Clare he was going to record a short talk about a drawing of his that MIA had acquired. In reality, he had coordinated with the curator of the museum to put together a special gallery display just for Clare!

THE RECEPTION

Before the reception began, the bride took the stage to sing for guests, creating a magical and personal moment that set the tone for the evening. The reception itself was elegant and vibrant, with crisp white linens, blue votive candle jars, and matching napkins. Fall floral centerpieces in cream, red, yellow, and blue, accented with lush greenery, brought warmth and richness to every table. A showstopper of the night was the bride and groom’s cake, an artistic masterpiece full of vibrant colors and featuring silhouettes of two painters. To kick off the dance party, Clare and Rowan took the floor for a stunning choreographed west swing dance, leaving everyone in awe.
