Aria Wedding, Minneapolis Wedding Photographer

Courtney and Travis’s Aria wedding is something straight out of a movie! Sort of like their love story, from how they met to their amazing proposal! These two met in the summer of 2010 while studying abroad in Alnwick, England. They both lived in the castle where they filmed the Harry Potter movies! These two spent that summer going to classes, exploring new places in England, and traveling around Europe. After knowing each other for six months, Travis finally got the courage to ask Courtney to be his girlfriend. She said yes and they’ve been inseparable ever since. Fast forward to a vacation in the Bahamas. Travis made reservations at a restaurant and the manager led them outside, away from the restaurant. As Courtney recalls the evening: “At this point, I started to think, ‘maybe this could be happening.’ I looked at Travis and didn’t see a ring box in his shorts nor did I see a ring box in the suitcase we were sharing while traveling. My hopes for an engagement changed when I realized it was a possibility. We were told to take our shoes off and walk down several stairs to a private dinner on the beach. She couldn’t believe Travis had planned such a romantic date. Then, after dinner, he got down on one knee and popped the question! All I could do was keep shouting, ‘YES!’ and asking if this was real or a dream. Then the server came back with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The night ended with a private firework show right on the beach. It was literally the best night!” For their wedding, they wanted to get married in the Twin Cities but they also wanted their wedding to be inspired from the summer they met in England. When they discovered Aria in Minneapolis, MN, they knew it was the perfect venue! Aria’s brick walls, unique artwork, and chandeliers reminded them of the castle they lived in. They chose their flowers, crystals, and first song based on the culture they were surrounded by that summer abroad.
