With a love for nature, hiking, and especially fall colors, Annie and Cody knew they wanted to have a beautiful outdoor fall wedding in Minnesota. While planning their wedding, the couple quickly fell in love with the atmosphere and aesthetics of Furber Farm’s rustic barn in Cottage Grove, as well as the venue’s outdoor ceremony option. Plus, the venue’s ease of having everything in one place was a huge bonus since Annie’s family was all coming from out of town. With a relaxed, laid back day in mind, Annie and Cody couldn’t wait to bring their families and friends together for one big celebration!
How They Met...
Annie and Cody first meet in the summer of 2018 while Annie was finishing up grad school in Rochester, Minnesota and Cody was there visiting friends. They had both swiped right on Bumble while in each other’s radius. They started chatting for a month before meeting in person at Kaposia Park, where they went for a walk with Cody’s dog, Letti. Prior to the date, Cody had warned Annie that Letti is very shy & not to be offended if she didn’t get too close. Well, clearly Letti knows what’s best for her hooman because as soon as she go out of the car, she ran across the field to greet Annie. Obviously, Cody took Letti’s approval to heart and the couple went on more dates. Even while Annie was in Europe for a month, the two continued to talk and when Annie returned, they picked up right where they left off. By July of 2018, Cody officially asked Annie to be his girlfriend.
The Proposal...
Fast forward to September of 2020, Annie and Cody went camping in the Boundary Waters with some friends. While the group watched the sunrise around a fire, Cody began talking about loons – which Annie later learned was a code to their friends. Cody asked Annie to take a picture and right after the photo, Cody popped the question. Annie’s first response was “Shut up!” – she was in complete shock. She quickly followed up with a “YES!” though, and their friends captured the entire moment with photos and videos.
