Last December, Heather, and Toby were married in Brainerd, Minnesota, at Madden’s Resort. They had met in college eleven years ago. While planning their wedding there, they chose to have the date be their eleventh anniversary together. Heather went to St. Catherine University, while Toby went to St. Thomas University. Both families had been vacationing at Madden’s Resort for decades, so it held a special in their hearts. The ceremony was at All Saints Church, a couple of miles away. Heather’s father was the one to reach out to me and was a big part of the planning. He also reached out to Smith Carriage Company, making the event very magical with horse and carriage rides for the guests. The couple wanted all of their guests to be as comfortable and happy as possible. One fun twist they had at their Nordic-themed wedding was drinking horns they gifted their wedding party. It brought out a lot of laughs and was something I’m sure none of them had seen before.
