Photoshoot turned wedding proposal.
Minnesota proposal photographer, Jeannine Marie Photography, documented this special proposal for Kishan and Patel.
Kishan and Patel were engaged on a beautiful, windy, early spring day on Raspberry Island in St. Paul. Kishan spent weeks and months planning the perfect Minnesota proposal. He wanted it to be a surprise for the love of his life. After much debate, we decided Raspberry Island would be an ideal backdrop for the occasion. In addition, the covered bandshell in the park provided security, knowing we would have cover if it were to rain. This location had all the elements of the city combined with the natural beauty of the river. So the backdrop gave us all the aspects of Saint Paul’s most iconic features, including the #1 building, train bridges, and the red in teal colors that are seen sprinkled throughout the city.

Patel knew she was doing the photoshoot; however, she had no clue it would be the day she would be engaged! We had planned two outfits, one dressy and one more casual, hoping it would be a warm spring day. Unfortunately, the sunshine was deceiving as the temperature was close to 35 degrees and very windy! So we strategically organized our route around the park to warm up in the car between our locations.Β
Kishan had arranged for a decorator design an arch matching what the couple would be wearing. Once perfectly centered in the arch, he reached for a hug from Patel. Then the decorator set the engagement ring in his hand. He stepped back from the hug and said some of the sweetest words he had thoughtfully put together. He then knelt and asked Patel to marry him!
