It is my pleasure to introduce you all to Tami, owner of Studio B Floral. Tami is a very dear wedding vendor friend of mine and it is always a treat to work with her on real weddings and styled shoots. Tami has been creating beautiful floral arrangements since 2003, when she decided to do the floral for her own wedding. She took professional floral design courses and fell in love with the event floral industry. Since then, she has been designing beautiful and creative floral for numerous events and weddings throughout the Twin Cities and Minnesota. In addition to floral design, Tami also offers event design, rental items, day-of coordination, and planning. So without further ado, let’s chat floral and weddings with Tami!
What is your favorite flower?
Tami: Do I have to pick just one? Right now, I would pick a ‘Coral Charmer” Peony, because it is the perfect spring flower. They are so cool because as the flower opens up, they change color from a hot pink to the coral everyone loves to this lovely ivory shade.
What’s the most unique floral creation you have designed?
Tami: I have done countless weddings with beautiful floral designs, but my most unique floral work has come more from the corporate world. I did a large installment of the Olympic rings for a corporate party. That was a different challenge and turned out so cool. It was especially fun because it was displayed in an art gallery for the party.
What is your favorite part of wedding decor to decorate with floral?
Tami: I love the new trend to concentrate more on the ceremony backdrop and really create something dramatic with rich lush greenery and floral. I have so many cool ideas for ceremony backdrops that I would love to create!
What is your favorite bridal bouquet floral color palette?
Tami: I love anything with color!
What is your best advice for couples as they choose their flowers?
Tami: I think that couples get a little caught up in the specific images that they find online and don’t trust their floral designers as much as they used to before Pinterest. I am able to create styles more unique to my couples and stretch their budgets for optimum impact if given a little creative freedom. Pick a floral designer that you love, set a budget and a style for your wedding, and let the florist do their thing- create beautiful floral designs and you will be amazed at the results.
