Barn weddings are often called “rustic” or “charming”, but this inspiring concept shoot shows that barn venues can also host more upscale weddings. Historic Hope Glen Farm in Cottage Grove, MN and all of its amenities was the perfect venue to showcase a softer, more romantic and whimsical version of a Minnesota barn wedding. The color palette contained current trending colors dusty pink and dusty blue, complemented with greenery.
The Bridal Look
The center of this concept shoot is Martina Liana’s “Whimsical Tiered Ballgown” from Bridal Accents Couture. This light, airy ballgown has a sheer bodice with lace details, as well as a low V-back. The bridal look was completed with a romantic makeup style by Amy Rachael Makeup Artist and a braided and twisted updo by 139 Hair by Heidi.
The Floral and Decor
The Open Pavilion Reception
For the venue’s reception area, We’ve Got It Covered used blue chiffon on the head table chairs and draping framed the venue’s fireplace and backdrop. These aspects combined with the venue’s chandeliers created a romantic touch to the farm’s open pavilion. A floral stationery suite by Ivory Isle Designs that included menu cards and table numbers completed the tablescape. Of course, there can’t be a wedding without dessert! Miss Sara’s Cakery designed an ombre dusty rose cake with ruffle and lace details that emulated the dress. The entire vision came together exquisitely!
Twinkle Lights and a Stunning Sunset
At the end of the night, the open outdoor social hour area was decorated with twinkle lights and the sky was full of purple and pink colors after on and off storms.
