BWB Ranch Wedding in Laporte, MN

sunset, trees, bride, groom, portraits, BWB Ranch, LaporteCongratulations to Char and Adam! View their fall engagement session here along the Mississippi River in Bemidji, MN! These two tied the knot at the BWB Ranch in Laporte, MN. This new barn venue is absolutely gorgeous! The owners built the barn using leftover wood from the Akeley Railroad trestle bridge (built in 1927 and demolished in 2010) and red and white pine trees that were taken down to make room for the U.S. Forest Service Building in Walker, MN. In 2011, the barn was built for the purpose of work, storage, gardening, and chickens. The chicken coop has been revamped into a beautiful bridal suite and the barn serves for multi-purposes including weddings and events! Char and Adam were drawn to this venue because they “loved the rugid-look. It was more of a vintage, country look than a savvy chic style. Our favorite part about the BWB Ranch was that it was outside. Adam and I love being outdoors-fishing, camping, boating, canoeing, etc…so it was important to us to be surrounded by the outdoors on our wedding day.” These two had a lot of unique details on their big day. First off, they had a lot of decorations which included a lot of greenery, signs, and photos. One special detail that we have to mention is the groom’s mom’s wedding dress on display during the reception. “His mom had passed away 7 years ago and I [Char] wanted to do something special with her dress. She had made the dress herself and sewed on every single little bead. She had always hoped that one of her daughter-in-laws would use her dress in some way. I originally wanted to incorporate her dress into my own, but after talking with others, I decided I’d rather leave it as it was and display the dress instead. It was the perfect way to memorialize her on our day!” Other details we loved on their day was their circle ceremony, the vintage door card box, the shoulder corsages that were used instead of bridesmaids bouquets and family corsages, and the bride’s stepdad’s old truck.
